Rows and columns
A chocolate bar is often split into little squares. How many squares are there? You can find out fast by looking at rows and columns.

Cutting a rectangle into squares
Here is a rectangle cut into 2 rows and 3 columns. All the squares are the same size.

Common mistake
Count the squares, not the lines. 3 columns have only 2 lines inside them.
